These are the test policies we use to make sure every animal at the Dusty Bear Farm is in optimal health and that any sale from the Dusty Bear Farm will involve a healthy, vigorous animal.

• Our animals are tested for TB, Bangs and CAE. We are currently testing every 90 days through summer, 2006. Thereafter we will move to a twice-a-year testing regime.
• We will not sell a CAE infected goat. See our sales policy for more information.
• In our farm's history, we have had three animals test positive for CAE. Two have been removed to sanctuary retirement off our farm.
• The third animal, our buck Dusty, will be used for breeding and will remain at the Dusty Bear so long as he is asymptomatic. Thereafter, he will be humanely euthanized.
• CAE cannot be transmitted sexually. Find more information on CAE here.
