Although our small spread isn't all that remote, we do have a concern about coyotes. They have been a problem for some of the smaller animals, and it was clear our goats would need a 24-hour-a-day buddy. That's why we bought Morgan.

Morgan is a young Anatolian/Great Pyrenees cross, and she is our first true herd dog. She is extraordinarily gentle with the goats and frankly timid around people. She was raised with goats from birth, and her mother would nurse baby goats alongside her pups. We're working with her carefully so that she can be more comfortable with people, but she has far surpassed our expectations for goat protection.
